Full-time, Tenure-track Assistant Professor of Journalism

Regent University’s School of Communication and the Arts is seeking to fill a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Journalism. This position will be located at Regent University’s Virginia Beach, VA campus.

Journalism, news, and the search for the Truth are at the heart of Regent University. The Department of Journalism and Communication Studies features doctoral, masters, and undergraduate degree programs, including a new BA in Journalism. This new professor will teach undergraduate journalism courses, coordinate with programs across the university and in the community and lead academic and co-curricular initiatives including our student news outlets as the program grows into a next generation incubator for real-world training and cutting-edge investigative reporting.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will be an entrepreneurial scholar holding an appropriate terminal degree. The ideal candidate will have a significant research and professional portfolio, evidence of successful undergraduate teaching, and a clear and compelling Christian commitment.

Expectations include 1) a dedication to Christ-centered teaching and learning; 2) a record of or potential for academic scholarship; 3) the ability to teach undergraduate-level courses; 4) familiarity with online instructional technology; and 5) a willingness to embrace the College and University Identity and Mission statements and subscribe to a statement of Christian faith.
