Assistant Professor – Communication & Digital Media
Neumann University’s School of Business is seeking applications for a full-time faculty position in Communication & Digital Media, beginning in August 2025. Neumann, known for its commitment to first-generation college students, takes pride in their accomplishments. Students in the Communication & Digital Media program frequently earn national awards, benefiting from a curriculum that effectively integrates theory with practical application. The position is available at the rank of Associate or Assistant Professor, with salary and rank dependent on the candidate’s experience.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead the program in Media Content Creation.
- Build and develop curriculum and courses in content creation linked to fields in television, radio and social media.
- Collaborate with the executive director of Neumann Media and faculty to teach and create hands-on technical courses to be taught in the state-of-the-art Mullen Communication Center.
- Create partnerships, internships and relationships with local communication industry professionals and outlets.
Faculty Protocol:
- Candidates should be aware that Neumann University does not have a system of tenure, but instead offers faculty a policy-governed system of promotion and increasingly extended contracts with faculty seniority.
- All faculty members are expected to engage in discipline relevant research or creative work, provide high-quality teaching, serve on departmental, school and/or university committees, and advise students.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree required, Doctorate preferred.
- Professional experience in teaching or industry.
- The ideal candidate will have experience and a track record of creating, editing and measuring the effectiveness of quality content across media.
- Demonstrated agenda for research or creative work.
- Expertise in broadcasting and media content creation.
- Candidates must possess an appreciation for, congruence with, and commitment to the Franciscan mission of the University that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.
