Assistant/Associate/Full Professor Tenure-track

The American University in Bulgaria (AUBG) invites applications for an assistant/associate/full professor tenure-track position in Journalistic Writing and Reporting. The candidate will be employed within the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication. We are looking for a candidate who has experience as a reporter or writer across print and digital platforms or broadcast media, as well as undergraduate teaching experience. Candidates will primarily be expected to teach our core classes with a special focus on Writing for Media and Reporting. The position starts in Fall 2025.

Tenure-track faculty are expected to teach three course sections per semester, participate in university and departmental service, and publish within their fields, including creative work where appropriate. Candidates should be prepared to demonstrate how their teaching and scholarship will contribute to AUBG’s ongoing mission as a liberal arts institution furthering the advancement of democratic ideals in Eastern Europe.

The compensation is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in hand or be near completion of the dissertation.

AUBG is a small residential liberal arts college nestled in the mountains of Bulgaria with an outstanding international faculty serving over 1,200 students from over 40 different countries.
