The Department of Communication at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley is anticipating two openings for Fall 2025 in Mass Communication/Journalism (one tenure track assistant professor; one associate or full professor with possibility for tenure), and is entertaining informational interviews geared towards possible applications.
The department is particularly interested in speaking with individuals who meet the following minimum qualifications: A completed Doctorate in Communication or Journalism or related field and proficiency in oral and written communication in both English and Spanish, and who meet the following discipline specific qualifications: Preferred bilingual English/Spanish with native or near native proficiency in both languages; experience with the development of bilingual English/Spanish programs; experience with journalism in Spanish or bilingual news outlets; experience teaching courses in broadcast/journalism.
