AEJMC 2016 Conference Job Hub Service
The AEJMC Job Hub will be offered during the AEJMC 2016 Minneapolis, MN conference on August 4-7 at the Hilton Minneapolis Hotel. The service provides program representatives and candidates the opportunity to meet one-on-one in an interview setting during the 2016 AEJMC Minneapolis conference. The Job Hub will be operating Thursday, August 4 through Saturday, August 6. For questions about the AEJMC Job Hub, contact Felicia Brown at Felicia@aejmc.org.
Schools using Job Hub
Schools may review files on individuals seeking employment opportunities and individuals may review files on position openings. Rates for programs using the service at the conference will be $100 for the first position and $75 for each additional. If your program anticipates an opening in the near future, this is the opportunity you’ve been waiting for. The conference Job Hub service affords programs the chance to meet potential applicants by scheduling preliminary interviews during the week of the conference or by browsing through the vitas of the candidates that are registered with the service. Because of the large amount of individuals requesting to use the Job Hub service, the association has placed the candidates’ vitas on this protected portion of the AEJMC website. You are encouraged to view the site and become familiar with the candidates.
There is up to a 250-word biographical sketch and a full vita of each candidate on this site. Vitas and position descriptions will remain on this site 60 days after the conference. There will not be hard copy versions of the vitas on-site in Minneapolis, however, Wi-Fi is available for conference attendees to view this site. Interview rooms will be available Thursday, Friday and Saturday beginning at 8 am running through 9pm each of the stated days.
The candidates have been told that program representatives will review their information PRIOR to the conference and should be contacted PRIOR to the conference to set-up interview times. A limited number of rooms will be available for interviewing participating candidates
A preliminary version of the conference program can be accessed from www.AEJMC.org beginning in early July which may aid you in deciding your interviewing times. The candidates will also have to opportunity to review your position descriptions and may contact you prior to the conference to request an interview.
Programs participating in the service should have requested materials to the central office by July 29. Individuals using Job Hub
INDIVIDUAL REGISTRATION IS CLOSED.
The Job Hub will be operating Thursday, August 4 through Saturday, August 6. Each program has been given assigned time in a specific room for interviewing. However, a program may schedule you for an interview and meet with you anywhere in the hotel.
The programs site will have postings added often and more often in mid-July so please check that site frequently. Program representatives will be the ones scheduling your interviews, so make sure and have your most recent contact information when expressing your interest in the open position(s).
The service is again blind this year, so only the program representatives know who has registered with the service. Our online system uploaded your materials and that is what was sent to the representatives.
The position announcements will be available to view the first week of July. See: www.aejmc.org/finders — Registered participants have been e-mailed the login information from AEJMC. Most programs are not allowed to post positions until the beginning of the fiscal year which begins July 1 for most schools. Search the site for interviewing tips and suggestions. Also take this time to prepare your email inquiries for the program representatives. When writing to the representatives always remember to include your vita and your bio description. We wish you much success in your job search and look forward to seeing all of you in Minneapolis in a few weeks.
